Step 1: Apply for Admission
- Online Application for Admission: Click here if you wish to apply online. (Be sure to mark the “CALL/Fast Track” box at the top of the application under Enrollment Status.)
- Print Application for Admission: Click here to print. (You may print, fill out, and send in the application if you don't want to apply electronically.)
- The application fee may be paid electronically.
- Admission cannot be completed until all official transcripts are received.
- Processing of this application could take up to two weeks.
Step 2: Proof of Immunization (This may be waived for CALL students.)
To obtain the waiver, you must check the "CALL/Fast Track" box at the top of the Application for Admission under Enrollment Status. Also, on the Proof of Immunization Compliance Form, check Personal Reasons and state "online CALL student". Click here for the Immunization Compliance Form.
Step 3: Request to have transcripts sent to Northwestern.
- Students must have official transcripts sent to the Admissions office from all other institutions attended.
- Transcripts should be mailed to: Admissions, Northwestern State University, Natchitoches, LA 71497.

Step 4: Apply for financial aid.
- The student must complete a "Free Application for Federal Student Aid Form" (FAFSA) before financial aid eligibility can be calculated. Click here to access the FAFSA form.
- The following financial aid forms are available on the Financial Aid web site in PDF format to be downloaded, printed, and mailed back to the Financial Aid Office:

Step 5: Contact CALL Staff to obtain your advisor information.
- After you receive a written notification of admission, contact the CALL staff, Carl Henry or Katy Hall ( 1-800-376-2422 or 318-357-6355 ; ece@nsula.edu). They will provide you the name and contact information for a CALL student advisor.
- The advisor will review any credit from other institutions and help you choose an appropriate curriculum. The advisor will register you for classes.
- Note: Students may be required to take a proctored exam for an online course. You may make prior arrangements with your instructor for an alternate location if you are not located near the main campus.
Step 6: Order your textbooks.
Click here to order your textbooks online from the NSU Book Store. Search by course for the books you need.
Step 7: Activate your MyNSU account.
Your myNSU account will be activated within 24 hours after you register. Activating your myNSU account gives you access to NSU email and to your Blackboard account. Your Blackboard username and password will be the same as your myNSU username and password. Click here to activate your account.
Step 8: Learn about Blackboard.
All on-line classes use Blackboard, a course management system. Click here to learn more about Blackboard.
You will not be able to see your classes listed in Blackboard until the first day of classes.
